The Excavating Teaching Protocol is a structured, facilitated conversation between educators, designed to build a deep understanding of how and why a teacher does {something} and why it works for students’ learning.

We organized first-year teachers into Improvement Teams, where 3-4 teachers worked with a Grad Coach to set goals for themselves, make small changes to their practice, and study their impact together.

By incorporating a "Step Up Day" into your program, you can better prepare rising teachers for the practical challenges they'll face as they transition to their own classrooms, ensuring a smoother start to their first year of teaching.
